Nourishing Minds, Feeding the Future School-Feeding Project
We are deeply committed to alleviating hunger among school-aged children in the rural communities surrounding Monrovia. Through a ten-month initiative, we address the urgent issue of child hunger, which hinders both the health and educational progress of disadvantaged youth. Despite Liberia's rich soils and favorable climate for agriculture, the country faces persistent food insecurity driven by widespread poverty and structural inefficiencies in its agricultural sector. According to the latest food security assessment, approximately 18% of Liberian households are classified as moderately to severely food insecure. Our project is designed to counter these challenges by ensuring that schoolchildren receive daily nutritious meals, supporting both their academic success and healthy development into adulthood. Partnering with local schools, communities, and donors, we provide balanced meals to two thousand students across 14 schools in ten slum and rural areas throughout Liberia. Our team carefully plans a weekly menu, serving meals such as rice, beans, fish, chicken, cream of wheat, bread, and milk to meet the nutritional needs of children aged 5 to 15. This investment in child nutrition is crucial for unlocking students’ potential, empowering them to thrive academically, and laying the foundation for them to grow into active, contributing members of society.

Widow Home Construction
On April 22, 2023, our team of volunteers in Liberia discovered Ma Betty John a widow with four children and a resident of Peace Island Slum community in Liberia. This lady once lived in the middle of the swamp along with her last-born son. Due to her living condition, some neighbors took three of her children leaving her with her last-born son. At age 17, her son is currently out of school and sit at home all day while his mother goes around cleaning, sweeping, and collecting garbages from people’s yard just to feed her family. After our intervention, she appealed to donors for help in giving her a new structure. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, we were able to build Ma Betty John a new home, which includes a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and front porch. Her new home will be completed and turned over to her on Saturday, May 13, 2023. We are proud to be able to make such a meaningful impact on Ma Betty John's life and hope that her story inspires others to join us in our efforts to create positive change in Liberia.
